According to real estate sources, Reid’s Fine Foods is looking at Lincoln Harris’ new Capitol Towers project as they plan to open a SouthPark store.
It was previously reported that Reid’s newest store would be 12,000 square foot big and would be open by November 2015.
Lincoln Harris has already started the construction of the Capitol Towers project earlier this year located at Congress Street and Carneige Boulevard in SouthPark.
The first phase of the project, expected to be completed by late 2015, which features one of the two planned office towers, a seven-story packing garage along with an 8,500-square-foot retail building situated at the property’s southwest corner.
During an event last summer by Charlotte Business, Lincoln Harris’ Chief Operating Officer Johno Harris took Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission’s advice, which now has the ability to add 12,000 square feet of retail space on the parking deck’s backside that will be facing JLB Partners’ 350-unit apartment project being constructed next to the property.
“It was a great idea, and we embraced it and think in the long run it could be very beneficial,” Harris claims. “We’ve had several groups come in and ask us about it, and we’re having conversations with them.”
Aside from JLB’s project, Crescent Communities is also building a 321-unit project across Carneige expected to be delivered early next year. Wood field Investments is also constructing around the corner at the Barclay Downs Drive and Morrison Boulevard intersection a 280-unit apartment complex.
