A former warehouse along the light-rail line situated in South End has been redeveloped and made into a combination of for-sale office and retail units. One of the first office condos is set to be completed December this year.
Branding and interactive agency MODE has recently agree to buy a 7,000-square-foot unit on the building’s rail side located at 2173 Hawkins Street.
Such development is situated in between the industrial building where Sycamore Brewing is said to open the Spectrum South End apartment complex.
The project is estimated to have a total of 22,5000 square feet with 2,500 square feet for most of the eight units. The estimated purchase price for the shell spaces is around $500,000.
Argos has already reserved two units, 5,000 square feet in total for thei restaurant and bar.
According to John Pietrafesa, creative director and partner at MODE, the company has been searching for a space to lease but they’ve realized that owning a office would be more cost effective.
