Charlotte’s Rapid Growth

Based on Forbes’ list of fastest growing cities in the United States, Charlotte, North Carolina was ranked 5th with a growth of 32.8% since 2000 and 1.7% since 2011. Charlotte has proven to be a fast developing city, proving itself more than ever this year.

Opening of BB&T Ballpark

POST6 1BB&T Ballpark is the official name of the newest baseball stadium in Charlotte’s uptown area. It’s located in 424 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, which officially opened on April 11, 2014. The 10,000-seat ballpark caters to different events such as concerts, community events, festivals and more. It is expected to draw approximately 600,000 baseball fans in its first year of opening.

Carolina Premium Outlets

This luxury outlet mall has 100 stores offering everyday savings at 25 to 65 percent. Charlotte Premium Outlets is a joint venture of Simon and Tanger Factory Outlet Centers. To check out all the deals and steals, take a visit to the mall at 5404 New Fashion Way.

Airport upgrade

Different airports across the nation are spending billions of dollars upgrading their facility; one of which is Charlotte’s airport. The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is currently building a new parking deck and entrance road. The management also plans to do a major terminal renovation within the year that will mean better finishes, replacement of aging equipment and a new bard court.

After years of discussion and planning, the construction of the extension of Charlotte’s light-rail line is on its way. Once the Charlotte Area Transit System gets the approval to sign contracts, the construction of the next leg of the Blue line will begin. The extension will stretch from uptown Charlotte to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
