Here’s one myth about searching for a home. Schools might not be so important in the decision-making process when you’re selecting your home. Here in Charlotte, we have magnet schools, which means if you’re not happy with your home school, the school that’s assigned to the home, then you can apply to have your child go to a magnet school. So one way to compete with the hedge funds and the investors, they’re focused on the school’s rankings. Whereas if you’re not so focused on that, you might get a better price in another district.
