It was reported last month that Amazon.com will get more than half of one of the building in Concord Airport Business Park to use as their distribution centre.

Once this 222,500-square-bart distribution center opens next month, it will be the first for Amazon in North Carolina.

Silverman Group, the project’s owner sold their Silver Line window company building in Durham to New York-based company Sentinel Data Centers last year. This paved way for the funding of the Concord Airport Business Park located at 7035 Westwinds Boulevard, Concord.

The business part will comprise of four buildings based on Silverman’s short term goals, with an estimated cost of $20 million. The general contractor for two of its buildings will be Charlotte-based company Intercon Building Corporation.

Though based in Short Hills, New Jersey, Silverman Group owns both industrial and commercial real estate in Texas and the East Coast. In Charlotte, it owns a 560,000-square-bart industrial building in Twin Lakes Business Park, which they paid $9.6 million in 2012.
