Just recently, Curran was named as the 2016 chair of the Charlotte Chamber.
In his recently interview with Charlotte Business Journal, he shared the plans for the 11-story building to be constructed in Ballantyne Corporate Place including Chairman Smoky Bissell’s interest to start the construction of the two buildings next year.
“We’re looking hard at pulling the lever on that building, and I think Smoky may have ambitions that go beyond that,” Curran said in his interview with. “He likes to do more than one building at a time. I think he’s looking at those types of options, maybe using that same building design but in a different location.”
In 2011, Bissell Cos. has broke ground for their two 10-story office buildings located at the same area, which was regarded by CoStar Group as the biggest speculative office project in the nation at the time.
Ballantyne Corporate Park, rezoned in 2011 to allow for more development, is located near Johnston Road and Interstate 485.
